IN MEMORY OF JAMES L. MARTIN
12- 24, 1947 – 05-31, 2006
James (Jim) Martin, passed away on Wednesday May 31, 2006.
Many of you knew Jim as the owner of the #4 and #57 West Coast Pro Trucks.
Jim was a one of a kind character. In the short time that I had the privilege to know Jim he became real soon a special friend to me and many of the WCPT racers and crew members. Jim loved the truck racing so much that he was determine to own more than halve the racing field by the time this season is over. And he was serious about working on it. Just last week he mentioned that he was looking into buying both WCPT trucks from Dale Cromwell. He said that he just wanted WCPT to be successful and he shared the vision with me that racing should not be just for the wealthy.
It was only a few weeks ago that Jim suffered a mild heart attack when he was at my office in Rancho Cucamonga, the medics rushed him to the hospital and Jim felt that all this medical attention was not necessary and went
back home that same night with his dear wife Patricia who he loved so much.
Jim never got to race one of his race trucks, he was talking about it and he wanted to do it so bad that he almost could taste it.
Jim your race here on earth is finished, you’re now in a better place and if they happen to have races there, look for the car with the initials J.C.
That’s the boss his Son.
Jim,
you will stay in our memories as a very special friend and special you are.
We will miss you buddy.
Your friend John Hulsebosch
