PFLUGER NAILS 6TH PLACE FINISH IN US ARMY 150 SHASTA RACEWAY PARK In a car out-classed by most of the field, the young driver from Morristown, AZ had to rely on his skills and a bit of luck to even finish the 150 lap, 2 hour marathon that was the inaugural US Army 150 at Shasta Raceway Park in Anderson, CA. With an expectedly unremarkable qualifying time that marked him to 15th out of the 27 entries, and a pack-back finish in the qualifying main event on Saturday things could only get better for the feature event on Sunday. And it did.

MOTOR SPORTS COMES TO THE DESERT EMPIRE FAIR DESERT EMPIRE FAIR The Desert Empire Fair, set for October 16th through the 19th, at the Desert Empire Fairgrounds in Ridgecrest will once again provide a variety of entertainment for all ages. This is especially true for racing fans. This year's fair will feature high flying action from the Side Car Motorcycle Nationals, the Speedway Bikes and the Speedway Sprints on Friday October 17th followed by the annual Demolition Derby on Sunday October 19th. All of this action can be found inside of the Steven Lovern Memorial Rodeo Arena.

MECHANICAL FAILURE GIVES HODGES SECOND PLACE BIG DOG SERIES CARSON CITY, Nevada — 19 year-old Bobby Hodges of Carson City, Nev. had mechanical failure end his run at Altamont Raceway Park in Tracy, Calif. prematurely, on Sunday afternoon. The Late Model standout suffered broken lug nuts, and was credited with a 21st place finish.

LONGTON WINS RACE OF CHAMPIONS AT YAKIMA SPEEDWAY YAKIMA SPEEDWAY  Day one of the three day annual Fall Classic began with Moxee, Washington’s Mike Longton solidly winning the Gap Northwest Broadcasting Race of Champions at Yakima Speedway. Another local driver Yakima’s Erick Hargraves was a distant second with Portland, Oregon’s Brad Stanwood third.

NASCAR CAMPING WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP AT ROSEVILLE NASCAR CAMPING WORLD SERIES EAST  When 25 NASCAR drivers took the oval for the Camping World Series (NCWS) season opener in March at the All American Speedway in Roseville, they had no idea they would be finishing the season and determining championships on the same track on October 25. The Camping World Series (formerly known as the Winston West series) is the premier driver development series in NASCAR racing and will hold its West Coast season finale on the 1/3 mile track that started it all.
