Formula TR is a driver development series that uses the worlds largest and longest lived development platform, the Formula Renault. The formula is stable and the safety is unprecedented; both chassis featured in the series, 1600 and 2000, are composed of a carbon-fibre tub and all the bodywork is also carbon-fibre making it very ridged as well as exceptionally strong.

One of the very important features of the series is an economic one. The series does not travel across the United States; it visits a variety of venues on the west coast. This greatly reduces the travel costs for the participating teams. Another exceptional feature is that drivers as young as 14 years old may participate, thus the motto of Formula TR is “The road to victory starts at 14….”

Alumni of the Formula TR series include the rising stars of motor sport, Marco Andretti, Michael McDowell, Brad Coleman, Colin Braun and Darryl O’Young. This is a clear demonstration that the concept of early driver development in a competitive environment not only works but it works very well.
