DRIVERS DUEL TO WINS AT WEDNESDAY NIGHT FEVERPOST FALLS, Idaho – Late race charges to the front of the pack netted the wins for three drivers at Stateline Speedway during Wednesday Night Fever. Bruce Garber, Dave Hatton and Bob Willis made the moves to get the wins with only one race left in the racing series.

Bruce Garber out dueled last week’s race winner Brycen Tarr to win the 30-lap Fever Four main event. Garber had lost the lead mid way in the race after he was caught behind a slower lapped car allowing Tarr to slip by. Garber slowly reeled the leader back in sight and made the pass for the win with 5-laps to go.

Tarr who won both the B dash in the Fever 4’s and the C dash in the Road Runners finished second followed by point leader John Vallone in third. Heat winners Matt Schoen and Jerry Myers took fifth and sixth.

The race was slowed five laps in for a accident in turn two sending Mel Auckerman sliding into the backstretch wall and fast dash winner Colton Garber rolling on his roof. Auckerman returned to the race to finish fourth. Garber was towed to the pits.

With his top three finish, point leader John Vallone can secure the 2007 championship by starting next week’s championship race.

Road Runner point leader Dave Hatton went from an accident and a restart in the rear of the field to the front to claim the 20-lap Road Runner main event. Hatton quickly moved past drivers on the outside to take the lead from Roman Gibson and Russell Syverson for the win.

Steve Mathers and Ryan Potts rounded out the top five. Hatton also won the fast dash and set the quickest time. Tom Knapp won the C heat and B main. Mary Ann Benn took the win in the C main.

Dash winners included Brendan Tarr, Brycen Tarr and Steven Murfin, his first dash win of the season. Mathers, Treven Tarr and Robb Boatsman won heats.

Hatton’s performance strengthened his point lead over Syverson to 21-points for next week’s finale and double points event.

Bob Willis inherited Crazy Taxi driver Darryl Carillio’s lead to win the 15-lap main event for the Bumper Cars. Carillio who set fast time and won the heat had developed a large lead but was spun while bumping by the slower car of Terry Armstrong Jr.

The spin collected second place driver and dash winner Yvonne Lifsey allowing Willis to take the lead for the win. Carillio finished third, Vern Dorsey fourth.

The wild, wacky, unpredictable action of Wednesday Night Fever concludes with the season finale championships, next Wednesday at 6pm with the cars and superstars of the Road Runners, Fever 4’s, plus the wild and crazy Bump to Pass division. Adults are just $5.75; kids under the age of nine accompanied by adults are free.

Saturday racing concludes this Saturday with the season championships for the Inland Northwest Winged Sprint Cars and the finale for the ICAR Racing Series. A tight point battle in both divisions will highlight the evening. Events start at 6pm. Admission is $10; kids under the age of six are free.
