TONY HUNT BRINGS ROCKSTAR TO TURKEY NIGHT

LINCOLN, California -- Tony Hunt – a five time United States Auto Club (USAC) champion is pleased to announce the addition of ROCKSTAR Energy Drink as a sponsor for the prestigious Turkey Night sprint car race at Irwindale Speedway. The 67th annual Thanksgiving event serves as a showcase race for the USAC Western Sprint Car series. This year’s edition will be taped for telecast on the cable outlet Versus.

“Having Rock Star Energy Drink on the car is a big deal for our team”, said Hunt. “We will be running an in-car camera for the event and we hope to duplicate the focus we had in our last two runs at Irwindale – which resulted in wins.”

Hunt is the defending champion of the Turkey Night sprint car race and he is also coming off of a victory in the most recent round of USAC Western Sprint Car competition. The third generation racer won the Madera Speedway “Harvest Classic” in mid-September driving the familiar Alan Kaiser owned, Thompson Toyota, Bailey Brothers #1. The same owner-driver combination resulted in a win in August 2006 at Irwindale. Hunt’s first success at Irwindale Speedway came on November 22, 2001 when he drove the Bob & Lori Scott #77 to victory at Turkey Night.

“I like the track, it suits my style and it’s a perfect size for our cars”, Hunt explained. “Going to Irwindale to conclude our season creates a lot of motivation for our team. The stands are packed with fans and celebrities, and I can’t think of a better place to spend Thanksgiving.” The ROCKSTAR Energy Drink #1 is alive in the chase for the 2007 car owner’s championship. Hunt who has already clinched the 2007 Earl’s Fast Qualifier Championship. would be in the mix for the driving title had he not missed a May race in Roseville, CA due to a schedule conflict with a National event (the Little 500). As is, Hunt sits third in the standings and does still have a mathematical shot at a sixth USAC championship.

The night will be busy for Hunt as he also competes in the USAC National Midget Car races – driving as a teammate to Josh Wise for car owner Cruz Pedregon.
