CAMERON, BMR AND NAPA REUNITE FOR FULL 2008 WEST SEASON ANTELOPE, California – Veteran stock car driver Austin Cameron drove in the Pikes Peak Hillclimb race in 2007 but this year he has another hill to climb.

Cameron returns to stock cars at the wheel of a NAPA-sponsored Bill McAnally Racing entry in NASCAR Camping World Series West competition. The 31-year-old Cameron, who lives in San Diego, looks at the BMR program as his ticket to a championship.

“You’d better believe it,” Cameron said. “I feel better than ever. I feel very positive about this season.”

From 2002 through 2004, Cameron, NAPA and BMR were a winning combination. They won half their starts in their first season. All told, they combined for 13 victories. Their most prestigious win was the inaugural Toyota All Star Showdown.

“With the added exposure due to the addition of the new series sponsor, Camping World, and some additional changes at BMR, we are wanting drivers that win races and contend for a championship,” Bill McAnally said. “Austin can certainly do that. We tested recently and he is definitely ready. He is more focused than ever before. I’m excited for this season to start. I know Austin will win races; the question is how many.”

Cameron has finished second in the Camping World West standings twice. He won the Camping World Series West Rookie of the Year Award in 1998.

“I think Bill McAnally is in the best situation he’s ever been in right now,” Cameron said. “He’s got the best equipment and people he’s ever had. I’m very excited about going to the track with this team because we work well together and we have great leadership.”

The 2008 season opener is scheduled for March 29 at All American Speedway in Roseville, Calif. The schedule includes 13 races, appears in eight states and races on short ovals, speedways and road racing circuits.

“We have a big variety of race tracks and Austin is a threat to win on all of them,” McAnally said. “He’s a big part of the strength of our team this season.”
