RYAN REED STARTS 2008 WITH A TOP 5

Ryan started his 2008 rookie season with a 4th place at Havasu 95 on February 9th. With only 3 starts in the INEX RACEceiver Legends series, Ryan proves he is a real competitor!! It was a very exciting and educational weekend for the 14 year old from Bakersfield, CA. logging over 50 laps of practice and 30 laps of competition.

“Friday practice went extremely well, I felt we accomplished exactly what we needed in order to be competitive on raceday.” – Ryan. Saturday practice speeds showed Ryan running times near the top 5…but a late spring change before qualifying proved to be the wrong move as the car was extremely loose placing Ryan 15 of 17. Crew Chief Robert (Toby) Tobias went to work on the car and Ryan dominated the heat grabbing his first victory. The 20 lap main was equally as exciting starting in the 15th position Ryan wasted no time working through the field and grabbing a 9th place finish overall and 4th in class. On the west coast INEX typically runs the pro & semi pro drivers together but scored separate. “The car was perfect for moving thru the field, If I could have had a few more laps we could have battled for a top 5 overall.” – Ryan
