THUNDERHILL RACEWAY SUPER STOCK DRIVERS TO COMPETE IN ASA NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP

KYLE, Texas – The Super Stock class at Thunderhill Raceway (Kyle, TX) will assume a new name for the 2008 racing season – the “ASA A-Line Super Stocks.”

As an American Speed Association (ASA) sanctioned track, Thunderhill Raceway will be part of the “first ever” ASA Member Track National Championship title race, and the THR Super Stock class was chosen to participate in this competition.

In addition, A-Line Auto Parts has returned as the title sponsor for the Super Stocks during the 2008 season.

The goal of the ASA Short Track National Championship is to activate a measuring system which takes into account many variables, such as field size, inversion, wins and number of races in a season, and create a level playing field to determine who is the ‘best-of-the-best’ of the ASA Member track champions nationwide.

The Joe Gibbs Driven ASA National Member Track Champion Award was designed to give the National Champion exposure with one of the top teams in racing – Joe Gibbs Racing.

Mary Ann Naumann, Owner/Promoter of Thunderhill Raceway (Kyle, TX), is excited about this opportunity for the Super Stock drivers.

“We’ve always considered the Super Stocks to be our premier class at Thunderhill Raceway,” said Naumann. “And now they have an opportunity to get some national recognition and exposure. We know we have some incredible drivers in the Super Stock class, and I hope one of them will top the national charts by the end of the season.”

The ASA A-Line Super Stocks will be one of the highlights on the agenda for the upcoming race at THR this Saturday (April 26). Also included in this weekend’s racing action will be the Texas Super Racing Series (TSRS) Late Models, the Texas Pro Sedans and the Dwarf Car Series of Texas – along with the Thunderhill Raceway Thunder Stocks, Grand Stocks and NasKarts. The ASA Member Track program is comprised of a network of short tracks around the United States, as well as a variety of regional and national touring series.
