WHAT SETS THE FLASHCO SRL SOUTHWEST TOUR SERIES APART FROM THE REST?

WILTON, California - The Flashco SRL Southwest Tour Series has continued to gain in popularity this year with great crowds of fans at each event. It has also seen growth in the increased car counts with many new drivers as well as those who are back with the SRL after seeing how great the series is doing this year. There are many things that differentiate the Flashco SRL from other touring series and local short track late model divisions and continue to make this series popular with both drivers and race fans.

One of the key benefits of driving in the Flashco SRL is the fact that it is a true touring series with races throughout the Western United States. This year we have already had great events at All American Speedway in Roseville, CA, at Irwindale Speedway and in Tracy, CA at Altamont Motorsports Park. In the coming months we will also have races at Colorado National Speedway and in Las Vegas at the famous Bull Ring! Giving drivers the opportunity to race in each of these venues allows them unique challenges with each track having different grooves, requiring different setups and demanding different race strategies. Touring to each of these venues as well as others in previous years has also benefited the fans giving more of our supporters the opportunity to see the talented drivers of the Flashco SRL in person at their local track.

Probably the most key differentiator for the Flashco SRL is its talented drivers. This year we have a new crop of rookies with some being young and some with lots of driving experience in other divisions but still new to the tour cars of the SRL. And of course we also have a great group of talented and in some cases legendary veteran drivers with multiple series and track championships. Many have been with the SRL for several years and some have returned this year after a break form the tour cars. This combination has made for outstanding races this season as well as very tight points standings.

The drivers also continue to comment on how much they enjoy their interaction with the SRL management and the SRL race officials. They like the fact that they can approach the SRL team and make suggestions for the continued improvement of the series. The management of the Flashco SRL knows that the drivers are what the series is all about and continue to give their best efforts to put on quality events for them to drive in.

Finally, the exciting part of the Flashco SRL Southwest Tour Series for the fans and the drivers are the tour cars. The SRL Late Models are 2900 pound cars with 9 to 1 engines producing over 550 HP. Each of these cars is powered by special built Chevrolet or Ford racing engines. They run on 11 inch slick racing tires from Hosier Tire. This all adds up to the Flashco SRL having the fastest short track stock cars on the west coast.

Be sure to makes plans to come out and to Altamont Motorsports Park on Saturday, July 5th and watch the SRL top five who are separated by just 36 championship points after three events. Jim Pettit II leads the SRL championship standings with 154 points, followed by Craig Raudman and Greg Voigt at 139 each, Troy Ermish 130, and Todd Bammer at 118.
