Here are the race results from Toyota Speedway at Irwindale for Saturday, August 30:

The night was dedicated to Ed Justice who passed away earlier today at the age of 87. Justice was the youngest of three brothers who founded and operated Justice Brothers Auto Care Products of Duarte, Calif.

Auto Club Late Models Twin Race #1

Tim Huddleston of Agoura Hills held off a last lap challenge by Travis Irving of Long Beach and hung on to win the first race of the Auto Club Late Model 40 lap feature race twin bill Saturday night (August 30) at TOYOTA Speedway at Irwindale. The victory was Huddleston’s 4th of the season and 37th of his career at the Speedway allowing him to take over the division points lead from Nick Joanides. Irving captured second place 0.193 seconds behind the winner. Benny Moon of Sacramento finished in third place and Nick Joanides of Woodland Hills finished in 4th place.

Auto Club Late Models Twin Race #2

Twenty-three year old Travis Irving of Long Beach won the second race of the Auto Club Late Model 40 lap feature race twin bill Saturday night (August 30) at TOYOTA Speedway at Irwindale piloting a California Highway Patrol sponsored 2008 Toyota Camry. The victory was Irving’s first ever in Late Model competition. Nick Joanides finished in second place, 0.403 seconds behind Irving. Tim Huddleston of Agoura Hills finished in third place and maintained a two point lead over Nick Joanides of Woodland Hills in the division point standings.

Pure Stocks

Appearing in only his 4th race of the season Mark Whitson of Riverside won the Pure Stock 30 lap feature race Saturday night (August 30) at TOYOTA Speedway at Irwindale. Whitson edged Tommy Agosta of Chino at the finish line by 0.202 seconds. Ken Michaelian of Lawndale finished in third place. Division points leader Chad Kelly of Calabasas finished in 5th place in the caution free race.

DriveTech Late Models

Chris Jordan of Boise, Idaho won the DriveTech Late Model 20 lap exhibition race Saturday night (August 30) at TOYOTA Speedway at Irwindale. Dennis Tarlton of Park City, NC finished in second place. Jason Wolf of Chicago finished in third place.

Vista Paint Super Stocks

Division points leader Bryan Harrell of Riverside took over the lead from Jeff Grill of Acton on the 8th lap and went on to win the Vista Paint Super Stock 35 lap feature race Saturday night (August 30) at TOYOTA Speedway at Irwindale. Harrell’s margin of victory over the second place Grill was 4.350 seconds. The victory was Harrell’s 4th consecutive win of the season and 7th of the season. Larry Cerquettini of Redlands finished in third place.

Pure Stock Figure 8

Division points leader Chad Kelly of Calabasas won the 10 lap Pure Stocks Figure 8 feature race Saturday night (August 30) at TOYOTA Speedway at Irwindale. Ken Michaelian of Lawndale finished in second place and Ron Davis of Norwalk finished in third place.

Train Race

The tandem of Mike Atkinson and Steve Cheek won the 10 lap Train race Saturday night (August 30) at TOYOTA Speedway at Irwindale. Eight three car teams competed in the 10 lap competition.
