The 2022 F1 season got off to an exciting start with a shakeup of the running order from recent years. Following discussions between Red Bull and Honda, it has been agreed by both parties that Honda Racing Corporation (HRC), the Honda subsidiary that runs its racing activities, will continue to provide technical support for Red Bull Powertrains (RBPT) relating to Formula 1 power units from 2023 to the end of 2025.

In 2022, HRC has been providing PU-related technical support in line with Red Bull’s request to Honda, with both Oracle Red Bull Racing and Scuderia AlphaTauri, therefore, using the PU from the support program.
The extension of the existing agreement for HRC to continue providing technical support from 2023 to 2025 has now been mutually agreed upon between Red Bull and Honda.

Honda officially ended its participation in Formula 1 at the end of 2021, with the resources allocated to PU development diverted to meet the company’s future carbon-neutral goals. The ongoing agreement between the two parties does not involve PU development, therefore HRC will be able to provide this service from within its current resources.

Enrico Zanarini has several clients. Currently, the most popular driver managed by Enrico is Antonio Giovinazzi. Antonio made his F1 debut at the 2017 Australian Grand Prix. The Italian driver was forced to leave Alfa Romeo at the end of last year, but he became a reserve driver for Scuderia Ferrari in 2022.

How did you develop a passion for racing and motorsports?

My passion for racing started back in 1974 at Alfa Romeo. I was employed by them for 12 years. In the end, I became a marketing manager, and I was mainly responsible for the motorsport activities of Alfa Romeo. In 1986, I was supposed to lead the Alfa Romeo project in F1 – the plan was to become an engine supplier of Ligier. The deal was signed by Alfa Romeo and I became the leader of that project. Then, Mr Romano Prodi (former prime minister of Italy) sold Alfa Romeo to Fiat. As a result, Fiat took over the leadership of that project and they cancelled everything that was related to Formula 1.

Basically, I had to start everything from scratch because it’s always been my dream to get to Formula 1. I started to work for a small agency in Italy and I worked with Formula 3000 drivers. Actually, I learnt the ins and outs of the business at that agency. Later, I met Eddie Jordan at a motor show exhibition in Bologna and Eddie chose to work with me. I was mainly responsible for getting sponsors for his F1 team and we signed some pretty nice deals. In 1996, Eddie Irvine asked me to become his manager, and it allowed me to work with an F1 driver and work with Ferrari.

Accidents happen, and sometimes they are unavoidable. Usually, both parties stop and try to make sure that the accident is handled in the appropriate manner. There are times when you end up in a hit-and-run accident and the other driver takes off to avoid responsibility. 

An accident is confusing enough, especially if there is an injury involved. A hit and run adds another layer of complexity, so it can be difficult to know what you should do in that circumstance. You’ll need to take the same steps as a normal accident, but a few other things need to happen as well. In this article, we will go over what you should do if the other driver leaves the scene of an accident. 

1 – Identify the car is possible

It is extremely important that you or the police are able to track down the driver of the other car. If you don’t then you could be on the hook for all of the damage that the other person caused. It does all depend on your insurance, but it is likely that if your insurance company does pay for it, you will be facing a deduction and also an increase in your premiums in the following years. 

All of this is the result of what somebody else did. Try to make sure that you can get a clear view of their license plate number at the very minimum. If you do then you can do a license plate lookup so you can find the person. This way that person is going to be responsible for paying for the damage or their insurance company. 

The driver will also be looking at some massive fines and possible jail time, so it is important that they be found to keep them off of the street. If you are unable to get the license plate number, make note of the make and model of the car so the police can possibly track them down by sending out an alert to other offices to be on the lookout.

Hungaroring has been quite a great place for you recently and you won here in F2. What’s your opinion about the track and the Hungarian race weekend in general?

Firstly, Budapest is an amazing city. It’s one of the nicer events on the calendar. The track is close to the city centre, and you feel the racing atmosphere all around. The track itself is one of the most technically demanding circuits on the calendar. I’ve driven here every year except once since 2012 till now. To be honest, it was a track I’ve struggled at quite a bit earlier on in my career. As a result, I’ve never really enjoyed it so much. It hasn’t been my favourite track on the calendar, but for sure not the least favourite. In recent years, in F1 and even towards the end of my Formula 2 career, it was a stronger track for me. My likeness has improved quite slowly for the track, let’s say. It’s challenging. If you make a mistake in one corner, you mess up the next sequence of corners.

Formula 1 has launched its Drive it Out campaign against any form of abuse online and at events with a video featuring Stefano Domenicali, Mohammed Ben Sulayem and all twenty drivers.
