2023 Formula 1 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix highlights

Introduction

Sergio Perez converted pole position into victory at the 2023 Formula 1 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix as teammate Max Verstappen recovered from P15 to make successive one-two finishes for Red Bull. Fernando Alonso put his Aston Martin on the podium again with a good drive before being stripped of P3 and then reinstated after a stewards’ review.

Perez overcame an attack from Alonso at the start, a nervy Safety Car period and Verstappen’s charge from the midfield to make up for the potential win he lost at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit a year ago – kick-starting his championship hopes in the process.

Verstappen progressed to P2 quickly but ultimately had to accept defeat to Perez. The reigning world champion managed additional driveshaft concerns late in the race after the same component failed during qualifying.

The Ferrari Roma Spider, the latest model from the Maranello marque, was presented to clients at an exclusive event at the El Badi Palace in Marrakesh. This timelessly elegant, high-performance car is a contemporary take on the chic, pleasure-seeking Italian lifestyle of the 1950s and 60s. This spider carries over the proportions, volumes and specifications of the Ferrari Roma’s hugely successful V8 2+ concept, but what makes it so striking is the adoption of a soft top, a solution making a welcome return to the Prancing Horse range on a front-engined car 54 years after the 1969 365 GTS4.

A novel and modern take on the soft-top design underlines the Ferrari Roma Spider’s exuberant character, with extensive personalisation options that include sophisticated, bespoke fabrics and contrasting stitching. Functionally, the soft top deploys in 13.5 seconds and can be actioned at up to 60 km/h. The fact that it is so compact also yields a larger boot and boosts the car’s versatility. A new, patented wind deflector integrated into the backrest of the rear bench can be deployed by a button on the central tunnel, guaranteeing exceptional in-car occupant comfort without taking up any space in the car.

The Ferrari Roma Spider retains the Ferrari Roma’s excellent dynamic characteristics: it boasts a best-in-class weight/power ratio thanks not only to its soft top but also to its all-aluminium chassis and 620 cv V8 from the engine family that was heralded as the International Engine of the Year on four consecutive occasions. The engine is coupled with Ferrari’s universally-acclaimed 8-speed DCT, known for its swift shift times, excellent comfort and mechanical efficiency standards.

Legal and medical actions you should take in case of a road accident

A road accident is an unfortunate occurrence that takes place on a daily basis. If we look at the United States only, we’ll realize that in this country only, over six million collisions occur every year.

And that’s a pretty devastating fact. Sadly, hardly anyone can predict these things, and what’s even worse is that many people do not know how to act after something like this happens, and this refers to both minor fender benders and serious crashes.

That’s why it would be smart to find an informative guide, just like this one, that will help you properly prepare for these inconveniences. If you want to know exactly what to do after an accident, scroll below to learn more!

Check On Everyone To See If They’re Safe

If you were alone when this accident occurred, you’re first supposed to check if everyone who travelled with you is doing okay. Several steps need to be taken in these types of situations, and they include the following:

Exit your car if you’re able to, and make sure to turn on the emergency flashersIf you’ve been part of a serious collision and you’ve noticed that people are injured, please contact 911 immediately so they can provide you and the passengers with the necessary help. This rule applies even to minor incidents because you are obligated to contact the police so you can get a police reportIf you’ve been in a minor fender bender, then I would advise you to contact the non-emergency police hotlineIf you have flares, you should set them up around the scene to notify other drivers about the problem. If that’s not the case, then turn on the hazard lightsDo not leave the scene at any cost, but instead, wait for law enforcement to arrive

Do You Have A Lawyer?

I believe that some of you do not believe that having an attorney can greatly help in these situations; however, these professionals can help you speed up the recovery process and defend yourself if you’ve been the one who caused this accident.

F1 betting: tips that every rookie should know

Formula One has been around since 1950, meaning there have been 74 seasons, including the current one. Whether you’ve followed the sport for ages or became a fan only recently, you might consider placing a bet or two to support your favourite driver or show friends how much of an expert you are. However, you might not know where to start if you’ve never wagered on sports. To help you out, here is a helpful guide that will help you get to grips with betting on F1.

Get familiar with the odds

For starters, regardless of what sport you want to bet on, it’s a good idea to learn a bit more about odds and how they work. Odds are the chances that an operator gives a particular team, player, driver, or athlete to win or meet specific criteria. With that in mind, you should know that there are three different ways how odds can be written. They all represent the same thing but are expressed differently.

Fractional odds: These are also known as British odds; fractional odds are the most popular in the UK and Ireland. They are written with a slash or hyphen. So, you might see the odds of Lewis Hamilton winning presented as 9/1 or 9-1, aka nine-to-one. That means if the 2020 champion wins and you bet one dollar, euro, pound, or any other currency you want to bet with, you will get nine more and your initial investment back. If you see a 13/5 odd, you get £13 for every £5 you wager.Decimal odds: Known as European, digital, and continental odds, there are typically used in continental Europe, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. Many people see decimal odds as easier to understand as you don’t need to add back your stake. The number doesn’t just represent the profit but the total payout instead. For instance, the odds of Charles Leclerc winning in Saudi Arabia on March 19 are 11.00. If he happens to win and you bet €10, you can win €110 (€10 x 11.00). You multiply your bet by the odds.Money line odds: Finally, American odds are called the money line. As you can tell by their name, they are popular in the United States. These odds are accompanied by a plus (+) and minus (-) sign. When there is a minus, it indicates how much you need to bet to win $100, while a plus indicated the amount you could win for every $100 you put on the stake. Let’s see an example. The odds of Verstappen winning might be -140, meaning you must put $140 on the line to win another $100. On the other hand, the odds for Alonso are +1400, meaning that by risking $100, you stand to win $1400 in case the Aston Martin driver finishes first.

Understand different types of bets in F1

Now that you are more familiar with how odds work, you should learn more about the different types of bets that are typically available in F1.

To-win bets: This is very simple. You will place a bet on who you think will win the race. You can bet on both the driver and the constructor.Podium finish bets: These bets are similar to to-win bets, but you have higher chances of winning. You need to bet on someone who will finish on the podium first, second, or third.Pole position bets: As you will also probably follow the qualifying portion of a race weekend, you might as well try betting on who will be on the pole before the race.Fastest lap bets: It’s also possible to bet on who you think will have the race’s fastest lap.Driver matchup bets: When you opt for this kind of bet, you pick two drivers and bet on the one you think will end the race in a better position. Nothing else in the race matters, only how these two will perform.Proposition bets: The fastest lap is a type of proposition bet. Other ones don’t involve skill, like betting on how many cautions there will be. Moreover, you can also bet on which driver will switch to which team in the future.

Future bets: Finally, you can try a future bet. Predicting where a certain driver or team will finish the season would be best, meaning there are long-term bets.

Learn more about F1 rules, teams, and drivers

Being new to F1 might mean that you’re starting with zero knowledge. With that in mind, you can learn a little more about the recent rule changes, the teams of the grid, and the drivers that are racing for them.

Ride, Perfected is the motto that identifies the mission of Basso Bikes: creating the best riding experience for passionate cyclists. This philosophy produces bikes with much in common with our cars: their carbon fibre components are made in-house, with lightweight and aerodynamics as the key drivers of performance, just like on a Formula 1 car. Basso, nowadays, offers a wide range of bikes: not only road racing but also gravel and e-bikes. Basso will supply our drivers, Yuki Tsunoda and Nyck de Vries, with racing bikes for their fitness training programme. At the same time, team personnel will be provided with road and gravel e-bikes at the European races on the calendar. The bikes boast an eye-catching livery that takes its cues from the look of the AT04.

Basso is a symbol of Italian authenticity. Performance, strength, and elegance are the unmistakable hallmarks of Basso bikes, making each one a precious “Made in Italy” product. As part of the ongoing partnership, Everdome will create multiple metaverse experiences with Alfa Romeo F1 Team Stake throughout the 2023 Formula One season, showcasing its hyper-realistic platform in the paddock during bespoke events at selected races, beginning from this weekend’s Saudi Arabian Grand Prix – when the team’s C43, driven by Valtteri Bottas and Zhou Guanyu, will make its debut in the metaverse.

Everdome plans to transform the way people consume sporting events while raising the bar for fan engagement; all of this will add a futuristic dynamic to the traditional motorsports experience for racing teams and fans alike, and we are thus looking forward to working together and unlocking the full potential of our partnership. I’m excited to see Everdome’s platform live in the Formula One paddock for the first time this weekend and to see our team’s world come to life in the metaverse as the season progresses.

After an absence of 11 years from the F1 itinerary, the Red Bull Ring returned in style in June 2014 and laid a solid foundation for the modern era of the Austrian Grand Prix.

The Red Bull Ring, situated in the Steiermark region, is the only Formula One circuit in the country and has a reputation as one of the highlights on the calendar, despite recent high-profile additions such as Las Vegas. The wall of colour created by the travelling ‘orange army’ of Max Verstappen fans is one of the most recognisable spectacles of the modern F1 calendar.

Eleven Grands Prix have been staged at the Red Bull Ring, including two races in 2020 and 2021. The venue has hosted many memorable moments involving star names of the motorsport world and some key home wins for Oracle Red Bull Racing.

Purchasing a second-hand car: essential tips you need to follow

Cars brought a lot of good and a lot of bad things into this world. On the one hand, we have the most convenient way of travelling. On the other hand, a lot of car owners do not respect the rules and put other people in danger. We are led to believe it is the pedestrian’s fault for not being careful, not the car owners themselves. However, the problem is much more systemic on the car manufacturer’s part than others.

Whatever the case, we will still live with cars until we get to systematic solutions. In the meantime, car prices have risen dramatically due to many global events combined with corporate greed. Buying second-hand cars is becoming more common, which is a good thing. With this article, you will be more acquainted with buying second-hand cars with these essential tips.

Different areas

The experience of buying a used car will differ depending on the area where you live. Thus, the question of how to buy a used car in Singapore will differ from how to buy a used car in Toronto. The main difference comes with unexpected fees not included in the car’s price tag. There is also a different regulative strain on second-hand cars in different areas.

This means that some poor dealership practices are allowed in certain countries. You must talk to experts in your area and read more online before buying a car. Some countries do not require a test run, and some second-hand cars might be stolen. It is very important not to become involved with shady dealers and read more about avoiding such scenarios.

Budget

People buy second-hand cars not because they want to but because they have no choice. On the other hand, people might want to buy a second-hand car to avoid some ridiculous fees applied by BMW or Mercedes, for example. Whatever the case is, it is important to know what you want to buy and what to expect from your budget.

Moving On Up: Frederik Vesti

Born in Vejle, Denmark, Frederik Vesti is one of the most exciting talents of the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team’s Junior Programme. After achieving success in lower categories, Frederik moved up to Formula 2 last year, and he remains in F2 for 2023 but switched teams from ART to Prema.

Background story

“Frederik comes from a family with minimal financial means. But he has an uncompromising and hardworking father. During a test in Barcelona with Van Amersfoort Racing at the end of 2016, he set faster times than Max Verstappen did with the team. It opened the door and possibility for him into the German Formula 4 championship with Van Amersfoort Racing in 2017. At that time, I still had not agreed to become his manager. But I helped him with his first DKK 1 million through a current sponsor, Give Steel. He received the rest of the money from his father. His father made a quick decision and opted to sell his home and his farm to find enough money for Fred to drive in the 2017 season” – said Dorte Riis Madsen, manager of Frederik Vesti.

“Since Frederik was tiny, he has taken career matters into his own hands. At 12, he jumped on his bike and set off to collect money in and around the neighborhood where he grew up. Fred had made a small brochure including photos that he hoped would help convince the town’s local shopkeepers, businesspeople and craftsmen that he is a young lad worth their support” – Dorte continued.

“I got on my bike in all kinds of weather, and I remember it like it was always raining, but people welcomed me. Of course, many people like me constantly ask businesses for money for this and that. Whether you are successful or not, I believe it’s about how you ask and present yourself. It sends a strong signal if you dare to show up at the front door without your mother or father holding your hand. So, it makes an impression when a 12-year-old boy suddenly stands in front of the manager’s office in the local company and asks for money” – Frederik explained.

All the Brand’s top representatives were present to celebrate the delivery of the car to the Finnish champion. After that, they welcomed him at the Alfa Romeo’s Centro Stile and Head Quarter. This is a source of pride for those who have made noble Italian sportiness a founding value since 1910.
