Leclerc took the lead when the Sprint winner and championship leader Verstappen pitted on Lap 12. Leclerc pitted much later, on Lap 27, and retook the lead with a pass on Lap 37. With Sainz challenging Verstappen for P2, the Dutchman pitted again on Lap 37.

Leclerc took his second stop on Lap 51 and retook the lead on Lap 53. With Sainz right on Verstappen’s tail, the Spaniard suddenly slowed – the fire at the rear of his Ferrari signalling the end of his race. That promoted Hamilton, who had battled from P8 to P4, to the final podium place.

The 6 fastest cars in the world right now

Blink and you will miss them. We humans have always been fascinated by cars and more specifically, how fast these cars can go. When thinking about fast cars, names like Ferrari and Lamborghini might come to mind, but nowadays, there are a lot of super-fast machines available. Some of these cars are owned by famous soccer players and celebrities. Let’s look at some of the fastest cars in the world today.

McLaren Speedtail: 250 MPH

McLaren is an expert when it comes to hypercars. The Speedtail was introduced in 2019 and is seen by many as the worthy successor to the iconic F1. The Speedtail is a hybrid and combines a twin-turbo, 4.0-liter 8 gasoline engine with an electric motor. With 1,035 horsepower, this car is able to hit 250 mph, which makes it McLaren’s fastest car yet.

Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+

Bugatti has proven itself over the years when it comes to speed. But this car is an entirely different beast. It is on an altogether different level and demonstrates that Bugatti always finds a way just to get better and faster. The Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+ boasts an astonishing 1,600 horsepower and 1,180 pound-feet of torque. This is staggering and gives the driver way more power than originally seen in the Veyron. The mind-blowingly fast Chiron can hit 60 mph in 2.3 seconds and can crest 300 mph. In Bugatti’s official testing though, it hit 304 mph.

Rimac Nevera

This one is a bit different. This car is all about proving the “naysayers” wrong. Electrification is the future of excellent performance, and this car proved that. This sleek creation has four electric motors with a total output of 1,914 horsepower and 1,740 pound-feet of torque; the top speed of this beast is 258 mph. This is highly impressive but here is the kicker, hold onto your seats for this one. It only takes 1.97 to get to 62 mph and the world-beating quarter-mile time, where it took just 8.74 seconds, all while on cold tires. On properly warmed rubber, that time fell to just 8.58 seconds. This is definitely not a slow electric car.

Aston Martin Valkyrie

It is kind of strange to see an Aston Martin on this list as Aston Martin is usually not involved in this kind of fast car space, being generally built more as a beautiful and phenomenal grand tourer. The Aston Martin Valkyrie is definitely something different for this company. This is due to the fact that the company is collaborating with its Formula One partner, Red Bull Racing, in their quest to build a world-beating supercar.

A quick guide to race car detailing

Determining how and where to begin can be challenging with automobile detailing, especially if you’re a newbie having a do-it-yourself (DIY) project. But it’ll be much simpler if a professional does it for you. However, if you decide to take the DIY way, it may be a pleasant experience.

Detailing is crucial, especially for race cars, since they’re typically used for showcases and races. However, it’d help if you ensure that its details are spotless regardless of what you want to use the car for. You could think of detailing as an important vehicle maintenance procedure for your race car.

Thankfully, if you want to go the DIY route, there’s generally no need to dive into complex detailing because the fundamentals should suffice. Remember that you can employ various techniques to get the desired results. The following guide will touch on the fundamentals you need to know to do the detailing job.

Clean The Wheels

Since car wheels or tires have high usage rates, it’s generally recommended to start with them. Plus, they get worn out fast. However, the wheels are usually simple to clean up if you have the proper chemicals.

Alfa Romeo is to launch a new docuseries ‘Beyond the Visible’ to showcase what really happens when the floodlights turn off and the tracks are no longer buzzing with drivers, colourful helmets, fireproof suits, and the deafening sound of the engines at Alfa Romeo F1 Team ORLEN.

Formula 1 is one of the most well know and finest expressions of motorsport, however only a tiny bit of this wild circus reaches the public eye. With the most advanced technical performance and the slightest margins determining victory or defeat, the tiniest improvements are the result of the tireless work of the team. This series will offer the chance to see the lesser-known aspects of the races, showcasing the passion and hard work of experts, mechanics, engineers, and managers, and, with their hands firmly gripped to the wheel and the pedal to the metal, the drivers.

Produced by the studio Lunartic Productions, the five-episode docuseries will be posted on the Alfa Romeo social media pages throughout the 2022 racing season.

What other major sporting events are there to look forward to after F1 2022 finishes?

Formula 1 is the world’s greatest sport to its global legion of supporters. The high-octane action that races deliver plus the glamorous locations and behind-the-scenes drama make it truly fascinating to follow. Although it might seem a long way off yet, F1 followers might be wise to plan what to do when the current season finishes in November 2022. After all, this will leave a gaping hole in their schedule, requiring them to find other sporting events to plug the gap until F1 starts up again. But which are the best alternative sports events that F1 followers might enjoy tuning into?

World Cup 2022

Soccer’s premier competition is not only a top spectacle to watch but also great if you usually bet on races in F1 and want to carry on with sports betting at other events. The current 2022 World Cup betting odds are worth checking out before you do, so you have an idea of which countries should do well.

The other great thing about catching soccer’s World Cup 2022 after F1 ends is that you will not have to wait too long. F1 finishes early this year on November 20th, 2022, and the World Cup starts right after on November 21st, 2022!  The World Cup is set to run for multiple weeks and bring together the best players and teams to battle it out on the field. France are the current champions and expected to shine – but will have countries such as England, Brazil and Argentina to contend with first!

Australian Open

Although the start of a new year is always quiet in terms of F1, this does not mean there are not lots of other first-class sporting events to catch. The Australian Open in tennis is a great example and is certainly worth tuning in for.

As Rafael Nadal’s 2022 Australian Open win showed, this is a tennis competition which always serves up the best action. It is also the first major Grand Slam event in tennis each year – just as the Australian Grand Prix usually launches the Formula One season each year.

The brand gains logo placement on the front wing endplates, with the deal signed in time for the British Grand Prix.

Aston Martin’s executive chairman, Lawrence Stroll said:

“I fully recognise the commitment and ambition shown by Boss and its return to Grand Prix racing with the Aston Martin Aramco Cognizant Formula One Team.

The arrival of Hugo Boss is further validation of the incredible work to build a world-class platform where brands can partner, amplify, and activate on a truly international scale.

2022 Formula 1 British Grand Prix highlights

Introduction

Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz has claimed his first victory after a breath-taking contest at the 2022 Formula 1 British Grand Prix, the Spaniard finishing ahead of the Red Bull of Sergio Perez and the Mercedes of Lewis Hamilton.

Key to Sainz’s victory was a late Safety Car caused by Esteban Ocon retiring his Alpine – Sainz then attacking teammate Charles Leclerc on fresh tyres at the restart to claim P1 and check out for his first win on his 150th Grand Prix start.

The action was frenetic in the final laps, however, with Perez – who’d dropped to P16 after a pit stop, having had contact at the early race restart following a red-flag stoppage – coming out on top in a thrilling fight with Hamilton and Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc to take an unlikely P2.

IWC’s limited Toto Wolff edition to be auctioned for charitable initiative Ignite

Ahead of the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, IWC Schaffhausen is pleased to announce the auction of the last Big Pilot’s Watch Perpetual Calendar “Toto Wolff edition x Mercedes- AMG Petronas Formula One Team.” Limited to only 100 pieces, this exclusive Big Pilot’s Watch recognises the extraordinary career and achievements thus far of Toto Wolff, Team Principal & CEO of the Mercedes- AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team, while also highlighting his longstanding collaboration and relationship with IWC.

Over the years, Toto Wolff has been seen wearing several IWC watches and prototypes during memorable moments, on and off the racetrack. The watch numbered 50 out of 100 – the last available – will be auctioned by international auction house Bonhams, with the proceeds going to Ignite, a joint charitable initiative operated by the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team and Sir Lewis Hamilton to support greater diversity and inclusion in motorsport. At the same time, IWC Schaffhausen announces the establishment of an annual 50,000 Euro donation for Ignite.

In 2013, the Austrian entrepreneur and former racing driver Toto Wolff became a shareholder and executive director of the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team. During his time as the Team Principal & CEO, the team has won eight consecutive constructors’ titles between 2014 and 2021 – more than any other team in elite world sport. With the Big Pilot’s Watch Perpetual Calendar Edition “Toto Wolff x Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team”, Wolff was finally honoured with an IWC watch that carries his name.

The Big Pilot’s Watch Perpetual Calendar Edition “Toto Wolff x Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team” (Ref. IW503607) features a Ceratanium case and crown, a glass dial, and black hands. The printing and luminescence are in the team’s signature PETRONAS green colour. Limited to only 100 pieces, this watch is fitted with a black rubber strap with textile inlay. Ceratanium is a ground-breaking new material developed by IWC. It is as light and robust as titanium and almost as hard and scratch-resistant as ceramic. Ceratanium is based on a special titanium alloy forged explicitly for IWC. The case components are machined from bars and then treated in a furnace process at high temperatures. During this heat treatment, they develop not only ceramic properties on their surface but also their striking matte black finish.

Similarities between F1 and horse racing

Although one sport involves motor vehicles and the other comprises of horses, there are many similarities between Formula One and horse racing. Speed is obviously the key to success in both, but beyond the dash to the finish line, there are many more important factors that contribute to victory.

Here is a look at where the two sports mirror each other and why they are both enjoyed by many sports fans.

Best Drivers/jockeys Ride the Best Cars/Horses

To be successful in F1 and horse racing, a driver and jockey need to have a strong partner. Without a good car or horse, no matter how talented they are, they are unlikely to be victorious. That said, a talented driver and jockey can also make the difference between winning and losing. The tactical decisions they make from the starting grid or stalls to the finish line, particularly when under pressure, will have a big say on the outcome of their race.

F1 drivers and jockeys deserve a lot of respect, as they must keep a close eye on their weight throughout their careers. Obviously the lighter they are, the less weight their car and horse must carry. At the same time, they can’t lose their strength, as this is an important attribute in both sports. Constructors and horse trainers both snap up the best drivers and jockeys respectively. They know that if they do this, they can be confident that their asset is in good hands during a race.

Ferrari Trento and Formula 1 extend their partnership until 2025

Ferrari Trento will be the Official Toast of Formula 1 until the end of the 2025 season. The achievements from this partnership for both parties have led to an extension from three to five years; just a year and a half after the Italian winery was announced as Formula 1’s celebratory drink partner.

Alongside providing the podium bubbles at every Grand Prix, Ferrari Trento has launched a series of initiatives that have succeeded in engaging the interest of motor racing enthusiasts and making the company’s Trentodoc wines known – and enjoyed – both on and off the Grands Prix circuits. Through these activities, the aim has been to celebrate the values of excellence and the ‘Italian Art of Living’ that Ferrari Trento proudly represents, and which this prestigious partnership allows the winery to convey on an international level.

One of the most valued initiatives is the Limited Editions, created exclusively in celebration of Formula 1. This includes the special three-litre Ferrari F1 Podium Jeroboam, available from top wine shops and online. The Ferrari F1 Podium Jeroboam is an exact replica of the bottle used to celebrate with the winning drivers on the podium. The actual bottle, a completely unique item, autographed at the end of every Grand Prix by the top three racers, is also auctioned for charity during each race weekend on F1 Authentics, the official website for F1 memorabilia.

The Ferrari F1 Limited Edition has also been extremely well received, especially amongst collectors. The range celebrates some of the particularly significant Grands Prix such as Silverstone, Monza and Suzuka with a specially designed label, making the bottle a true collector’s item. Launched during the 2021 season, this year has seen the addition of two new labels dedicated to Miami and Mexico City.
